Pros and cons of Gantt after 9 years

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and Rent is about $1,021/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $156,200 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Anyone in a similar situation? We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Springfield area are decent. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in consulting. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
