Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Garden Acres sits at 1,331.5 per 100K. Household incomes average around $62,895 in Garden Acres. The median home value here is around $318,400, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 10,417 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much growing but now it's solid.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The dating scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a project manager and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in South for 6 years. Moved from Dallas for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. South schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Urban sprawl is real. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.
