Random thought, With a population of 10,375, Garden City is a small town. Rent is about $1,111/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,111 for rent here. Median household income is $41,735, which feels on the lower side for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely excellent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (East) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
