What Garden City does better than anywhere else

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Household incomes average around $41,735 in Garden City. Homes are going for about $160,700 on average. Rent is about $1,111/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Low crime in most areas
- Diverse community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Rising rent prices
- Boring for young people
- Homelessness issues downtown
What do you all think? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much pricey but now it's tough.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The nightlife is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is excellent in most areas.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
