Hey, I'm single, late 40s, and Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cheers. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
