Best neighborhoods to rent in Garden City?

So, I'm a 43-year-old project manager and Rent is about $991/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 9.1%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $162,400, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $162,400 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Easy commute
- Strong sense of community
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
Am I overthinking this? Appreciate any input. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2020 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
