First time home buyer in Garden City

Hey folks, Median household income is $64,396, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 26,910, Garden City is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,910 people. Homes are going for about $162,400 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Sprawl everywhere
- Few job opportunities in some fields
What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Definitely worth checking out..
