First post here. With a population of 171K, Garden Grove is a mid-size city. Crime rate is something to consider — Garden Grove sits at 292.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 63°F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in finance. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.
