Is public transit usable in Garden Grove?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 63°F, so the weather is moderate. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned? TIA!

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Highland) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.
