Gardena job market vs Austin

Homes are going for about $667,600 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in The Heights for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cost of living scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
