Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $79,291 in Gardena. Rent is about $1,761/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much wild but now it's solid.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.
