Things that make Gardena unique

I work in consulting and Median household income is $79,291, which feels about average for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Gardena sits at 541.5 per 100K. Poverty rate is 7.7%, which is pretty low. With a population of 59,765, Gardena is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cheers. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Austin about 9 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..
