Affordable areas near Gardendale?

First post here. You can expect to pay around $1,151 for rent here. Rent is about $1,151/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 16,110 people. Household incomes average around $81,215 in Gardendale. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in East for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The weather scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The weather is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Came here for weather and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The walkability is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
