Remote worker thinking about Gardnertown

Hey, It's a a small town city with about 4,154 people. Rent is about $2,440/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What do you all think? Thanks for reading. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 10 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I work in tech here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is average. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
