Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $1,612 for rent here. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Midtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is excellent. Tons of great Korean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
