Dog-friendly places in Garland?

Curious what people think. We have two kids and Rent is about $794/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $794 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 2,609 people. With a population of 2,609, Garland is a small town. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Bought a house here in 2018 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Boston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..
