Housing market in Garner right now

Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 32,543 people. The unemployment rate is 4.6%, which is about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in The Heights for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The dating scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely improving and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Old Town) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely hit or miss and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
