Just moved to Garner, any tips?

Hello, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Garner sits at 253.7 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 32,543 people. Homes are going for about $320,300 on average. With a population of 32,543, Garner is a smaller city. Median household income is $77,496, which feels about average for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in legal. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
