Been meaning to ask this. Crime rate is something to consider -Garrison sits at 1,338.5 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 10,449 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Any advice would be great.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Phoenix it's tough.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely solid and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..
