Worst things about Gastonia nobody talks about

Hi all, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $250,000 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,145 for rent here. Household incomes average around $60,554 in Gastonia. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Does this match your experience? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
