Unpopular opinion about Gateway

I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $137,150, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 6,716, Gateway is a small town. Average temperature is around 37--F, so bundle up in winter. You can expect to pay around $1,612 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Should I be concerned? Any help is appreciated. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
