Starting a business in Georgetown CDP (Luzerne County)?
Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $1,079 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 0.4%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Lakewood for 7 years. Moved from New York for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is average - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Limited shopping options. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much stable but now it's challenging.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..
