What surprised you most about Georgetown?

I'm a 51-year-old software engineer and Household incomes average around $163,158 in Georgetown. You can expect to pay around $3,500 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Worth the trade-offs?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.
