How much do you pay for rent in Georgetown?

I'm retired and It's a a smaller city city with about 38,206 people. The median home value here is around $244,200, which is actually reasonable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Chicago about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..
