Random thought, Born and raised here. Median household income is $78,373, which feels about average for the area. Household incomes average around $78,373 in Georgetown. It's a a smaller city city with about 38,206 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I work in government here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Mexican places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The food scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Charlotte it's challenging.
