Cost of living reality check -Georgetown

Household incomes average around $91,857 in Georgetown. The median home value here is around $398,600, which seems about average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Has anyone dealt with this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Chicago about 2 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.
