Working remotely from Germantown — my experience
I've been working remotely from Germantown for 7 years now. Here's my take:
The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.
Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Decent, getting better with new providers
Coworking spaces: A few good ones downtown
If you're looking for a place to WFH, Germantown is underrated for remote workers.

Coming from Philadelphia, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Old Town and Westside are perfectly safe.

Rent tip: look for places in October-November. Prices drop and there's more availability.
