Gilbert is underrated, change my mind

Hey everyone, We're a young couple and Median household income is $121,351, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 73°F, so it's warm year-round. It's a a mid-size city city with about 271K people. Household incomes average around $121,351 in Gilbert. You can expect to pay around $2,028 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- Mosquitoes and humidity
The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely tough and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
