Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely excellent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Fairview) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The food scene is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2020 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Boston it's pretty good.
