Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a data analyst, 43, moved here 4 years ago from Denver. I've lived in The Heights and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The outdoor recreation situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for remote workers. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The safety is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2020 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
