Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. TIA! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The school system is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Dallas about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The pet-friendliness is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
