Hello, I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $72,134, which feels about average for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I overthinking this?

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The housing market is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Atlanta about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.
