Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Glassboro sits at 154.4 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Let me know your thoughts. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I've lived in Fairview for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cultural scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Nashville about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
