Glassmanor in the winter -how bad?
Anyone else feel this way? Homes are going for about $316,500 on average. Am I wrong here?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from LA about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Downtown area are decent. Kids love it here.
