What to expect moving to Glen Allen?

Hey everyone, I'm a 25-year-old real estate agent and You can expect to pay around $1,719 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Downtown area are average. Kids love it here.
