Alright, Median household income is $88,291, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $88,291 in Glen Burnie. Poverty rate is 6.8%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a chef, 33, moved here 14 years ago from LA. I've lived in Uptown and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Summers can be brutally hot
3. The walkability situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for remote workers. improving vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Moved here from Austin about 10 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in South for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- The community vibe scene is tough
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
