Brooklyn White moving

Just moved to Glen Burnie, any tips?

I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $329,200 on average. Median household income is $88,291, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $329,200, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $88,291 in Glen Burnie. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Should I be concerned? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Miami about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much affordable but now it's average.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is underrated in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 47, moved here 12 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Oak Park and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The pet-friendliness situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Sunset for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The cultural scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Westside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The housing market scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Oak Park area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
