Why I chose Glen Burnie over bigger cities

Hey, Worth the trade-offs? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to LA it's solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 13 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The housing market is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Fairview) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
