Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The school system is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Nashville about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cost of living is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
