Is Glen Ellyn worth it salary-wise?

Hey everyone, I work in hospitality and Homes are going for about $522,600 on average. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,326/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,326 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,270 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I wrong here? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
