OK so It's a a mid-size city city with about 192K people. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. Median household income is $84,262, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 9.8%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Let me know your thoughts. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to New York it's solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in finance. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
