Career opportunities in Glendale, MO

Alright, I'm a 50-year-old software engineer and It's a a small town city with about 6,111 people. The median home value here is around $510,100, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $510,100 on average. With a population of 6,111, Glendale is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Glendale? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 8 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is decent in most areas.

I've lived in Riverside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The walkability scene is tough

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..
