Is Glendale worth it salary-wise?

Longtime lurker here, Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 0.1%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $133,200, which is actually reasonable. It's a a small town city with about 1,420 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Any help is appreciated. I've been in Cedar Grove for 8 years. Moved from Dallas for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**

The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**

hospitality is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**

Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**

I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Limited shopping options. And cost of living can be frustrating.
