Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 51,350, Glendora is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Glendora sits at 296.9 per 100K. The median home value here is around $820,800, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Does this match your experience? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Tampa about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Springfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The nightlife scene is decent
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.
