Anyone regret moving to Glenmont?

Curious what people think. I'm a 50-year-old marketing manager and Homes are going for about $542,300 on average. Poverty rate is 8.4%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
