Random thought, I work in automotive and Household incomes average around $51,625 in Glenns Ferry. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much manageable but now it's improving.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Old Town area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.
