Best and worst neighborhoods in Glenpool

Hey folks, I've been here for 11 years and Homes are going for about $191,400 on average. Poverty rate is 7.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 13,885, Glenpool is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in South area are average. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Uptown for 6 years. Moved from LA for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited high-paying job options. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 56, moved here 8 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Affordable housing options
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The nightlife situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for remote workers. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
