Curious what people think. Military spouse here. It's a a smaller city city with about 47,682 people. The median home value here is around $598,800, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $2,027/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I wrong here? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The housing market is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2021 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
