Best industries in Glenview right now

Hi all, Been living here since 2022. You can expect to pay around $2,027 for rent here. With a population of 47,682, Glenview is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $598,800, which is pretty steep. It's a a smaller city city with about 47,682 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What neighborhoods would you suggest? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
