Worst things about Glenwood Springs nobody talks about

Hey folks, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $1,717 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Seattle about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..
